Neighborhood Prides are a continually growing program throughout Columbus. The newest element of the Prides is the summertime “Mini Pride.” These events are taking place at four recreation centers around Columbus during the summer months. The first of these took place July 11 at Westgate Park. The day consisted of an animal clinic, a Bicycle Safety Festival, and Ice Cream Social and a Neighborhood Safety Academy. Pictured in the photo above (top), Columbus Firefighter Larry Ritter shows a group of children the inside of Engine 12. Also, Firefighter J. Sierra hands out stickers to children after they have been through the department’s safety house.
