Hurricane Ike blew through Grove City on Sept. 14, leaving quite a mess behind. Many residents were left with damage on their property and with no power. Above, LeRoy Griffin cleans up his lawn on Parkbrook Drive. Griffin said he has lived in Grove City for 17 years and has never experienced that much wind damage before. Several trees were split in the Farmbrook development off Gantz Road. The city of Grove City will pick up branches if residents leave it at the curb. The service department supervisor said it may take some time to get to all the homes and asked for patience.

A downed tree was partially obstructing a bench and some playground equipment at Big Run Park on Clime Road.

The strong winds did major damage to the fence surrounding the tennis courts at Franklin Heights High School.
