Skaters from all across Ohio gathered at the Grove City Skate Park on Oct. 4 for a skateboarding competition held by the Grove City Friends of the Skate Park. Above, 14-year-old Garret Haughn landed this "kick flip" in the advance street class of the contest. The Grove City High School freshman took the top spot in the class and also competed in the intermediate bowl class. Dozens of skaters took part in the contest.
Dylan Fields launched into the air and into first place of the intermediate street class. The 11-year-old from Park Street Intermediate School won the street class and took third in the intermediate bowl class. Proceeds from the event will help fund maintenance and improvements at the park.
