 In the second quarter of the opening game shutout on Aug. 30, it takes four Youngstown State defenders to take down Chris "Beanie" Wells. The play culminated with a 26-yard field goal. Despite being injured in the third quarter, Wells rushed for a total of 111 yards with one touchdown. The Buckeyes defeated the Penguins 43-0.

 All eyes were on the highly recruited Buckeye quarterback Terrelle Pryor at the opening game shutout against Youngstown State on Aug. 30. Here, Pryor leads the team down the field in the first quarter. He finished the day with 52 rushing yards, including his first touchdown as a Buckeye, and completed four of six passes for 35 yards.

 One of the Ohio State game time traditions is seeing the team and band hours before kickoff at the Skull Session at St. John’s Arena. On Aug. 30, the Best Damn Band in the Land played for thousands of fans in attendance.
