Cookies for London’s finest

Old fashioned in Mt. Sterling

Mount Sterling area resident Mary Ann McClain enjoys an “Old Fashioned Christmas” with Mount Sterling Community Museum Director Denny Morris. The event was held Dec. 21. All Christmas exhibits will remain on display through January. The museum will be closed to the public in January and February and will reopen March 3. Those who wish to view the Christmas exhibits in January need to call the library/museum at 740-869-2430 to set up an appointment.

$10,000 donated

Kim Kauffman (left) and Vivian Dennis (right), vice president and president respectively of West Jefferson’s American Legion Auxiliary Unit 201, present a $10,000 check to Post Commander Has Ranney. Dennis said the money is the Auxiliary’s way of saying thanks for the help the post provides for Turkey Bingo, Christmas and  Thanksgiving baskets, the Easter egg hunt and at the Chillicothe V.A. Hospital. Ranney said the money will be put to good use in everyday operations at the post.

Stanley Electric supports county’s United Way

Stanley Electric U.S. department chair-persons presented a check for $15,020 to Madison County United Way: (from left) John Thornton, Susan Davis, Bill Coughlin, Amy Rees of United Way, Carolyn Earles, Samantha Wilcox, Heather Hartman, and Dave Covert. This contribution was made possible by the support of the manufacturing management, who provided the time and opportunity for the campaign effort, and the generous giving by the Stanley management and associates.
