One of the shining lights of the downtown Columbus scene is now even brighter, with the completed renovations to the marquee of the historic Ohio Theatre at 39 E. State St., unveiled Nov. 13. The $150,000 refurbishment project was launched last June as a result of needed repairs to damaged wiring, failed sockets and excessive rust. Long-time CAPA supporter Jane Zimmerman performed the honorary "flipping of the switch.  The Ohio Theatre marquee is the original to the building when it opened in 1928. The crowning gems of this historic piece are a pair of leaded glass color panels which adorn each corner of the marquee. The previous electrical configuration did not allow them to be sufficiently lit. The most recent electrical repairs also revive several chaser lights which have not been lit for many years.
