Alyssa Rayburn, 10, a fifth-grade student at Norwood Elementary in West Jefferson, holds the distinction of being the youngest vendor at the West Jefferson Farmer’s Market this year. The enterprising entrepreneur designs, sews and sells purses she crafts from girls’ size pants and slacks she finds at thrift stores and garage sales. The crafty student said she learned to make the purses while taking sewing lessons at the Stitching Post in Columbus. |
