City of Columbus Firefighter Joe Leffe climbs his way to the top of the Rhodes State Office Tower on Feb. 23 for the 2008 Firefighters Climb for a Cure to benefit the Cyctic Fibrosis Foundation. Leffe, from the Southwest area, participated in the relay with his Ladder 15 team, where each member had to climb 10 floors. He also competed in the 40-floor individual climb. About 120 firefighters and emergency medical technicians from around Ohio participated in the annual event. Cystic fibrosis is a fatal genetic disorder that causes irreparable damage to the lungs.
