Starting off with a with a strike was a good indication of the day to come as nine-year-old Columbus student Aaron Cook took part in the Beat Michigan Bowl for Bucks at Great Western Lanes prior to the big game on Nov. 22. About 80 bowlers came out early to bowl, win prizes, have fun, help their community and still be home in time for kick off. The event helps raise money for the Westside Free Store Ministries, a non-profit entity that serves the needy by providing them with gently used clothing, personal hygiene items and small household items as well as children’s toys, books and infant necessities. The Free Store is funded by church and individual donations, grants, and volunteers. The bowl-a-thon raised over $4,500. The Westside Free Store Ministries is suffering some financial difficulties and is looking for help and support. Call 614-351-5480 for more information.
