The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Alyson Petee as London High School’s January Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Petee has a 3.829 grade point average, and her favorite classes are her agriculture courses. She was a four-year member of the volleyball team and is a four-year member of student council. She has served as class treasurer in the past and is currently the senior class president. Petee has been very active in the Madison-Plains FFA chapter, where she has served as the treasurer and is currently the president. Among other FFA distinctions, last year Petee earned her State Degree. She also is a vice president of the National Honor Society.

When asked to name a school staff member who inspires her, Petee replied, “I honestly do not feel like I could pick one staff member. All the staff at Madison-Plains High School are wonderful. I feel they all inspire me to do my best and be all that I can be.”

About Petee, Shelby Balint, her agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, stated, “It has been a true pleasure to get to work and watch Alyson grow into the responsible young woman she is today. I’m very excited to see her take on new challenges after graduation. I wish her the best in all of her endeavors.”

After graduation, Petee plans to attend a four-year university to major in agribusiness and precision agriculture. She is the daughter of Sam and Jennifer Petee.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million businesses and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
