The West Jefferson Community Association will host the annual Ox Roast festival Sept. 2-4 at Garrette Park. The following is the schedule of events. For more information about contests and other facets of the festival, visit https://www.westjeffoxroast.org/index.html.
Saturday, Sept. 2
12-10 p.m.–Vendors, crafts, bounce houses, and games
12 p.m.–Parade – “Up, Up, and Away!”
1:30 p.m.–Visiting queens promote festivals (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)
2 p.m.–Queens Luncheon (West Jefferson High School)
2:30-4 p.m.–“TBD: The Improvised Musical” (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)
4 p.m.–Watermelon eating contest (West Jeff Hardware Stage)
5 p.m.–Queens contest – Little Miss, Jr. Miss, and Miss Ox Roast (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)
6:30 p.m.–Pie auction (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)
7 p.m.–Ox Roast Dance (Garrette Park)

11 a.m.-7 p.m.–Vendors, crafts, bounce houses, and games
11 a.m.–Oxy Baby, Oxy Tot, and Oxy Sweethearts Contest (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)
11:30 a.m.–Ox Roast Sandwich Tickets go on sale (Ox Box)
12-6 p.m.–Serving of Ox Roast Sandwiches (Sandwich Serving Shelter)
12-5 p.m.–Drive-Thru Only serving of Ox Roast sandwiches
1 p.m.–Ice Cream Eating Contest (West Jefferson Hardware Stage)

Ride wristbands, raffle tickets, sandwich tickets, and payment options
Bounce House wristbands can be purchased at the Ox Box for $10 each.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Ox Box during festival weekend. Ticket sales end at 4 p.m. Sept. 4.
Ox Roast sandwiches cost $9 each.
Payments for ride wristbands, raffle tickets, sandwiches, and donations to the Ox Roast can be made using cash, check, or Venmo (@westjeffoxroast or 614-879-8818). Additionally, credit cards can be used to buy sandwiches.
