Our Pictorial Past – Old time commerce

Downtown Pickerington was a very different place more than a century ago. Pictured here, in a photo believed to have been taken prior to 1900, is Kraner’s General Store (left), located on the southeast corner of Columbus Street and Lockville Road. Just to the right of Kraner’s is Ricketts Stagecoach Inn. The wording painted on the side of Kraner’s store reads "E.D. Kraner’s Bargain Store, the best goods for the least possible cash."
