Farmers’ Breakfast – Summer Series
The summer farmers’ breakfast series is being held virtually. The first breakfast, set for June 19, will focus on in-season weed management. Mark Loux, OSU weeds scientist, will give an overview of the weeds that are beginning to emerge in central Ohio at this time, weed management, and an update on the most current information about dicamba. Aaron Wilson of the State Climatology Office will provide a weather forecast for the weekend and into next week.
The first 30 participants to register will receive a free coffee and doughnut from Der Dutchman in Plain City, thanks to sponsorship from the Farm Bureau. To attend, call Mary Griffith at the Extension Office or register online at www.go.osu.edu/farmersbreakfast.
Breakfast meetings also will take place on July 10 and July 24 and will focus on issues in the field at that time.
Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP)
CFAP will provide financial assistance for losses experienced as a result of lost demand, short-term oversupply, and shipping pattern disruptions caused by COVID-19. Producers can sign up for CFAP through the Farm Service Agency until August 28. Helpful resources for those looking for more information on CFAP:

Solar Leasing
For those of interested in learning about leasing farmland for solar energy production, OSU Extension is offering a series of webinars on leasing land for shale and solar energy production.
