London City Schools is looking to fill a vacancy on its board of education.

Jonathan Stahl announced his resignation earlier this month. He is moving out of the district and, therefore, can no longer serve on the board. This year marked the start of his 11th year as a board member.

The person selected to fill Stahl’s seat will serve out the rest of the term which expires on Dec. 31, 2023.

Anyone interested in filling the vacancy must reside in the school district and submit a letter of interest to Kristine Blind, district treasurer, by 5 p.m. June 10. Letters can be emailed to or mailed to London City Schools, attn. Kristine Blind, 380 Elm St., 2nd Floor, London, OH 43140.

The four remaining board members–Ashli Carter, Donovan Cooper, Marshall Geib and Juliet Wendler–will choose the new board member. Interviews are slated for the week of June 20. The winning candidate will be announced at the June 28 school board meeting.

Superintendent Lou Kramer praised Stahl for his dedication to the school district.

“Jonathan was part of the board that originally hired me seven years ago. I am grateful for that decision and grateful for the service he has made to the district,” Kramer said. “It’s hard work being a board of education member. The fact that he was able to serve this community for over a decade speaks to his commitment.”
