Karen Sue Holycross (Scheerer), age 68, of Orient, Ohio went to heaven on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 following declining health due to heart failure.
She was born December 11th, 1954 to the late Daisy Louella Scheerer (Whaley) and Kenneth Andrew Scheerer.
She moved from Bucyrus to Grove City as a young girl, when her father was transferred by the railroad. She graduated from the newly built Grove City High School in 1973.
Karen was a dedicated housewife that cared for her husband and children with great affection. She enjoyed going to church at the Naz, shopping for Christmas gifts and vacationing with her husband. Later in life, she was known to enjoy an occasional coffee treat from Starbucks. Karen was famous for her pumpkin roll and potato candy. She loved to watch the old back and white TV shows, Lucky Dog and the Cooking channel.
She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, James Karl Holycross Jr.; her 5 children Robin Bernhardt (Adam), Kenneth Holycross, Rosetta Holycross (Paul), Michael Holycross (Amanda) and Daisy Robinson (David); 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Karen’s ashes will be spread in the Hocking Hills area in some of her favorite places. A celebration of her life will be planned with family and friends at a later date.
