Norwood students raise money for Honor Flight

After reading an article in Scholastic News, students in Renee Hall’s third-grade class at Norwood Elementary in West Jefferson organized a school-wide fundraiser to benefit Honor Flight, a national organization that transports American veterans to Washington D.C. to see war memorials at no cost to the veterans.

Participating students each paid $1 to wear pajamas to school on Jan. 11. The effort raised $1,080 which the students presented to Beth Johnson, executive director of Honor Flight Columbus Inc. Johnson talked to the students about Honor Flight during her visit to the school.
