New safety director has decades of law enforcement experience

Kevin Teaford

Mayor Richard “Ike” Stage announced the appointment of Kevin Teaford as safety director for the city of Grove City, reporting to Deputy City Administrator William Vedra Jr., currently serving in both positions.

The safety director manages both the city’s division of police and building division.
Teaford’s law-enforcement experience spans more than 35 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and most recently served as lieutenant colonel and assistant superintendent responsible for all highway patrol operations.

“Law enforcement is a vital element of every community’s quality of life and Mr. Teaford’s extensive experience will be a valued addition to our team,” said Stage.

Grove City has been home to Kevin and his wife, Becky for more than 20 years.

“Having spent the last 35 years serving the citizens of Ohio, I truly appreciate the value and motivation of public service,” said Teaford. “The opportunity to serve the citizens of my hometown fulfills the dream of a lifetime. I am humbled and honored to work with Mayor Stage to help in keeping our city safe and a place where people want to live and work.”

Teaford will join the city beginning Sept. 7.
