London City Schools has hired a new principal at the high school.

Ryan Rismiller, principal at Meadowdale, a Dayton Public School focused on career and technical education, will officially take the helm on Aug. 1. He replaces Michael Browning who accepted the position of superintendent at Shelby City Schools.

Prior to his time at Meadowdale, Rismiller served as principal at Graham High School and as assistant principal with Marion City Schools. He began his career as an agricultural science and special education teacher before moving into school administration. He holds two master’s degrees, one in special education and one in school leadership, as well as a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science.

Rismiller was one of four finalists for the London High School principal position. A group of students, parents, staff, teachers, and administrators conducted the interviews.

“Ultimately, his vision for leading LHS, his genuine and relationship-driven personality, and his vast prior experience helped make him the ideal candidate,” said London Superintendent Dr. Lou Kramer.

When asked about his new position, Rismiller said he was very excited to lead London High School and to be a part of the London community during an unprecedented time of positive growth.

While his first official day is Aug. 1, Rismiller will work several weeks in July to aid in a successful transition.
