At their Dec. 21 meeting, West Jefferson council members considered design plans for a new housing development.
Greenhaven Development out of Akron plans to build 118 residential properties on 27 acres along U.S. Route 142 between Garfield Avenue and Converse Avenue.
The properties include six styles of single-family, two-story homes and two styles of duplexes. On one side of the properties, Greenhaven Development plans to build a pond with benches and trees for resident use. On the other side, the developer plans to build a recreational area, including a baseball field, soccer field and basketball courts.
The properties are designed to match the surrounding subdivision.
Council tabled a vote on the design plan.
In other news, council approved Exeter Route 40’s site plans for a 524,575 square-foot warehouse distribution center at 1042 Enterprise Parkway South. The warehouse will stand next to Exeter Route 40’s existing building.
Exeter Route 40 must obtain building permits from the village’s department of building and zoning before they can begin construction.
