After more than an hour of planting hundreds of mums, the Friends of Westgate Park volunteers gather near a flower bed. Tom Price, a westside resident who is also a volunteer with the group, grew all of the 250 mums that were planted on July 22 in his basement. He said that there will be 10 varieties this year and a majority of these Bell Mums will be introduced to the public next year. “It will be kind of a preview event,” he joked.
