The village of Mount Sterling and Mount Sterling Nazarene Church are teaming up to host Community Clean-Up Days May 3-5.

Crews will pick up large items for disposal, including everything from mattresses, furniture, appliances, and electronics to tires and inoperable vehicles. The only items not eligible for pickup are household hazardous waste, such as paint.

Crews also will perform yardwork on a case by case for residents, plant flowers at the village gazebo and in village plant holders, spruce up flowerbeds at Meadowview Village Apartments, and clear undergrowth around the village’s oldest tree located near the water plant.

Any resident who would like to schedule a pickup or inquire about help with yardwork can contact Courtney Bricker, Mount Sterling fiscal officer, at (740) 869-2040, ext. 108, or Mt. Sterling Nazarene Church at (740) 869-3127. The church also is accepting requests at www.msnazarene.org/on-mission-volunteer. The same contact information applies for anyone who would like to volunteer to help during the clean-up days.

The village will supply volunteers with water. The church is offering lunch for volunteers at approximately 12 p.m. on May 5.
