The Tri-County Fire Fighters’ annual homecoming will take place May 27-30 in downtown Mount Sterling. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Classic Midway will operate a variety of rides throughout the festival. Musical entertainment is planned for each night, including a deejay on Wednesday and live bands Thursday through Saturday.
Food options will be plentiful, from the fire fighters’ special hamburgers to funnel cakes, cheese on a stick, and sausage with green peppers and onions. Several vendors will set up booths to sell their wares. The choices range from Avon and Thirty-One to primitive home décor and jewelry. Additionally, former Ohio State University football players will be on site selling autographed memorabilia.
The Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary is organizing the festivities. Proceeds benefit the Tri-County Fire District, which covers 118 square miles and serves a population of approximately 10,200. The Auxiliary raises money to purchase fire equipment and supports the fire fighters at structure fires by supplying them with food, drinks, dry socks and towels.
