The United States Air Force Thunderbirds were the stars of the show at this years Columbus Air Show, held June 14-16 at Rickenbacker International Airport. It’s been almost 20 years since the historic flying team performed in the skies over Central Ohio. They are shown here flying 18 inches apart in one of their many breathtaking maneuvers. The Thunderbirds flying team features F-16 Flying Falcons capable of flying at Mach 2 and can be combat ready in 72 hours.
Carol Pilon stunned the crowd at this years Columbus Air Show, held June 14-16 at Rickenbacker International Airport with her wingwalking exhibition. Pilon started wingwalking in 2000 and has since started her own company, Third Strike Wingwalking. She has performed for millions of fans across North America and United Kingdom and also trains others in the various forms of wingwalking.

World class aerobatic pilot Skip Stewart is show here flying low to the ground cutting specific ribbons in his modified Pitts S-2S that he named “Prometheus.” Stewart has displayed his flying skills in air shows for more than 14 years and has trained many other pilots in aerobatic flying. At the Columbus Air Show he also performed dozens of high flying maneuvers, as well as raced a jet dragster.
The Legacy Flight featured a contrasting look at the modern and historic Navy aircraft. Shown here are an F/A 18 Super Hornet that serves as the Navy’s premier fighter and attack jet, flying along side of a FG-1D Corsair that served the United States in World War II and Korean War.
