The city of Reynoldsburg will host two upcoming town hall meetings regarding construction of a YMCA facility at the old pool site off Davidson Drive.
The meetings will be held at 11:30 a.m. March 21 at the Senior Center, 1520 Davidson Drive, followed by a larger one planned for 6:30 p.m. April 12 at Reynoldsburg City Hall, 7232 E. Main St.
To fund the construction of the proposed community center, voters must approve a 1-percent income tax increase this May. Supporters of an initiative say the hike also would generate income for improvements to the city’s streets, parks and police department.
Marshall Spalding, a city council member and one of the co-chairs for the Citizens to Improve Quality of Life in Reynoldsburg, said the proposal is now officially named “Issue 11” and will be on the ballot for the May 2 primary election. Volunteers with the organization have begun canvassing neighborhoods, answering any questions residents may have about the proposed center and income tax increase.
