Merging the past and present

The present merged with the past as the annual Heritage Day Celebration took place at Fryer Park on June 2. During this popular event, history enthusiasts bring out clothing and games worn by those in the 1800 and 1900s for modern revelers to catch a glimpse at what life was like on the frontier. Here, Ben Peterman, 9, of Grove City, tries to walk with stilts at a station set up for yesteryear games.

Ryan Alexander, the head coach of the boys baseball team at Grove City High School, prepares to round home during a vintage baseball game against the Ohio Village Muffins. Though the shirt and tie were typical of that era, the jeans were viewed as a fashion faux pas.
