Meet the Groveport candidates

Voters in Groveport and Madison Township will get the chance to question  candidates for mayor, council, school board, and trustee in person and one-on-one at a meet the candidate event.

The event, sponsored by Go Groveport, will be held Nov. 3 at the Go Groveport offices at 607 Main St., Groveport. It will feature candidates for:

•Groveport mayor and village council from 10-11 a.m.;

•Madison Township trustee from 11 a.m. to noon; and

•Groveport Madison school board from noon to 1 p.m.

According to a statement released by Go Groveport, "It is the mission of Go Groveport to ‘enhance the quality of life in the Groveport community by connecting residents, businesses, organizations and events …’ We are proud to do this by inviting those running for public office with the village of Groveport, Madison Township and the Groveport Madison School Board to meet with you, their constituents … This is your chance to ask questions, get to know the candidates, and put a face to the name before making a decision and heading to the election polls on Nov. 6. This is an informal, mix and mingle event. Come prepared with questions you want to ask or just observe."

The candidates are, in alphabetical order:

•Groveport village mayor – Dan Knode, Lance Westcamp;

•Groveport village council – Shawn Cleary, Jean Ann Hilbert, John Hone, Mary Mashburn, Mark Pettay, and Jan Stoots;

•Madison Township trustee –   Susan Brobst, Ed Dildine, Charles Johnson, and Thomas Rinehart;

•Groveport school board – Teresa Burch, Duane Dailey, Nathan Slonaker, Steven Slyh, and Mary Tedrow.

"We feel this is one way we can bring community leaders and the citizens together," observed Christine Boucher, Go Groveport executive director. "It’s a chance to get to know the candidates."

Go Groveport does not endorse any candidate.
