Canal Winchester Construction Services Administrator Bill Sims looks forward to the opening of a large-scale nature-themed playground at McGill Park later this spring. The recreation feature includes a climbing area, zip line and interactive equipment for children. Phase I of the multi-phase project includes the playground, four soccer fields – which will open next year to give the turf the opportunity to establish itself before hosting competitions – a three-season pavilion, multi-use trail and parking. The site was originally purchased by Henry Dove in 1811 on land that would become the city of Canal Winchester and the park. McGill park is located along Lithopolis-Winchester Road on the southeast edge of Canal Winchester near Walnut Creek.
You should do a story about how the city refuses to turn the park lights off at night wasting tax payer dollars, and causing massive amounts of light pollution. The city council of Canal Winchester doesn’t care about the people in and around their community.
