On May 4, dozens of Star Wars fans across the west and southwest quadrant of our local galaxy descended upon the Columbia Heights United Methodist Church in Galloway to partake in its annual “May the Fourth be with You” festivities. Limited in scope last year to slow the spread of COVID-19, the popular event was able to expand the number of attendees and the number of in-person activities for fans of the universe. “It has been so nice to see so many people engaged this year,” said Duane McVay, a life group leader at the church who established the event in 2016. One of the biggest attractions was this photo station where fans were able to engage with Yoda and Chewbacca. Here, Sylas Gibson, 4, poses alongside the iconic Jedi Master. The Grove City resident was there having fun with his great-grandmother and aunt.
