The Madison-Plains High School girls’ basketball program presents a check for $4,630 to the Mona Flax Breast Cancer Endowment Fund at Madison Health.

The program dedicated their Dec. 17 home game to raising funds and breast cancer awareness, calling the effort “Hoops for a Cure.” They auctioned off gift baskets and sold 50/50 raffle tickets, baked goods, t-shirts, and bracelets.

All proceeds were earmarked for the endowment fund which assists patients in need with breast cancer screenings and treatments.

“We would like to thank everyone for their generosity, making this a successful event,” said Aaron Stewart, varsity head coach. “I would like to also thank the players, parents, and everyone who volunteered their time and efforts.”
