(Posted March 11, 2024)

The Madison-Plains High School girls’ basketball program held their 2nd Annual Hoops for a Cure to raise breast cancer awareness. The event took place during the Eagles’ game against Greeneview and included a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

Representatives of the team recently presented a donation of $2,100 to the Madison Health Foundation’s Mona Flax Breast Cancer Endowment Fund: Coach Hope Fetherolf, Cheyenne Pearce, Fenja Berner, Kenzie Vallery, Sadie Mason, Aniston Cordell, Lyla Coil, Coach Aaron Stewart, Mackenzie Reeves, Cressa Williams, Claire Mason, Carly Kelly, Ariel Stout, and Ginger Kronk, vice president of development at Madison Health.

The fund provides assistance to women in the community for the detection and treatment of breast cancer. Through generous donors, the fund currently provides screening mammograms at no out-of-pocket cost.
