The Madison Plains High School Class of 1983 celebrated its 40th year reunion on Aug. 26 at The Brennan Loft in London. A sit-down dinner was served featuring tenderloin of beef or chicken cordon bleu and all the trimmings.
Deceased classmates were remembered and honored, along with the most recent passing of James Brinckerhoff, former principal, and Peggy Joslin, former guidance counselor. The class also honored the memory of Scott Eitel from the class of 1982. Scott’s sister, Jody, is a member of the 1983 class.
Correspondence was read from Kenneth Moody, a former social studies/civics teacher, wishing the class continued success. Larry W. Gartin, a graduate who could not attend the reunion, sent a greeting expressing his appreciation for the class.
Each of the honored faculty guests addressed those in attendance. Their words were heartfelt and emotional. At one point, there was not a dry eye by any class member or guest.
Conversation, memories, and laughs ensued for the rest of the evening.
