Low cost rabies clinic

The Franklin County Board of Health, Columbus Public Health, the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine, along with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department are holding a rabies immunizations clinic on April 11 from 1-3 p.m. at the Big Run Park Shelter House, 4205 Clime Road in Columbus.

The cost is $6 per shot; cash only and no appointment is necessary. All animals must be on a leash or in an animal carrier. Animals that are between 3 months and 1 year of age will receive a one-year vaccination. Pets over 1 year with proof of current vaccination will receive a three-year vaccination.

All dogs, cats and ferrets in Franklin County are required to be vaccinated and are required to wear their rabies tags. The clinic is open to all Franklin County residents. For more information, call the Franklin County Board of Health at 462-3160.
