London’s Pat Martin shared the strip with the biggest names in drag racing during the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals held June 26-29 in Norwalk, Ohio. Martin competed in the Super Gas with his 27 roadster and Super Comp with his Undercover Dragster, both powered by 540 Chevy’s.

In Super Gas, Martin qualified fifth in a field of 95 competitors and claimed a first-round win over Terry Eckard. Martin had a .001 reaction time at the line (1/1000 of a second away from perfect) and ran 9.912 seconds at 163.39 mph. Martin fell to Joe Carbacio of Clarksburg, W.Va., in the second round.

In Super Comp, Martin qualified 29th out of 102 racers and claimed a win in the first round over Michael Manners of Willis, Texas, with a .015 reaction time and an elapsed time of 8.85 seconds.
