The London Strawberry Festival, set for June 25-27 on and around Main Street in downtown London, features a mix of new and traditional events this year. Thursday, June 25
10:30 a.m.-noon—Contest registration and check-in at information booth: largest homegrown strawberry, toy building, shoebox float, window decorating, stories and poetry, coloring, art, photogenic, cake and cookie decorating
10:45 a.m.—Opening ceremony and National Anthem by Michaela Thompson
10:50 a.m.—Stage practice for Shortcakes, Little, Young, Junior and Miss pageant contestants
11 a.m.—Festival and all vendors open
4 p.m.—”Second Story Anthem,” main stage
4-8 p.m.—Sports Heroes autograph sessions
6 p.m.—Simba Jordan performs, main stage
6:20 p.m.—Miss Shortcake contest with hosts Simba Jordan and Danielle Combs, main stage
6:30 p.m.—Royalty contest (Little, Young, Junior, Queen) on main stage, followed by announcement of Miss Photogenic winner
7-8:30 p.m.—“Sighless Sunday,” Strawberry stage
10:30 p.m.—Festival closes
Friday, June 26
11 a.m.—Festival and all vendors open
Noon—“A Side of Paradise” performs, main stage
1-7 p.m.—American Red Cross blood drive
1-8 p.m.—Sports Heroes autograph sessions
4 p.m.—Thunderfoot karate demo, main stage
5:30-7:30 p.m.—”Sighless Sunday,” main stage
6-7 p.m.—Marshall Phillips, Strawberry stage
7-8 p.m.—Strawberry food contest check-in at information booth
7:30 p.m.—“Posse” band, main stage
7:30 p.m.—Kiddie tractor pull, Strawberry stage
8-8:15 p.m.—Food contest entries judged
11 p.m.—Festival closes
Saturday, June 27
8:30 a.m.—5K run, corner of Walnut & First streets
9 a.m.—Baby contest, main stage
9 a.m.—All vendors open
9 a.m.-1 p.m.—Young Eagles giving free plane rides at Madison County Airport for children ages 8 to 17 and their parents.
9 a.m.-3 p.m.—London AC COBRA car show
11 a.m.-7 p.m.—Sports Heroes autograph session
Noon—”State Street Band,” main stage
Noon-4 p.m.—Ride special
1:30-3:30 p.m.—Queens luncheon
4 p.m.—Parade line-up at Cowling Park
5 p.m.—Grand parade followed by crowning of the 2015 queen at the main stage; grand marshal recognized; contest and parade awards announced
6 p.m.—Marshall Phillips, Strawberry stage
7:30 p.m.—Raffle winners announced
8 p.m.—”Smokin’ Ham Band,” main stage
9-11 p.m.—Pick up contest entries at info booth
