The 2018 London Strawberry Festival will take place June 21-23 on and around Main Street in downtown London. For details, go to www.londonstrawberryfestival.com.
Thursday, June 21
10:30 a.m.-noon—Contest registration and check-in at the information booth: toy building, window/house/yard decorating, stories and poetry, coloring, art, photogenic, cake and cookie decorating, accessory decorating, mandela/zentangle
11 a.m.—Opening ceremony and all vendors open; National Anthem by Maddi Mullins
11:15 a.m.—Stage practice for Shortcakes, Little, Young, Junior and Miss pageant contestants
6-8 p.m.–”Seize Eternity” performs, youth stage
6:15 p.m.–Photogenic winners announced, main stage
6:20 p.m.—Shortcake, Little and Young Miss royalty contests, main stage
7 p.m.—Junior and Miss contests, main stage
10:30 p.m.—Festival closes
Friday, June 22
11 a.m.—Festival and all vendors open
1-7 p.m.—Red Cross blood drive, First Street
5:30 p.m.—Car show
5:30-7:30 p.m.–“The Wegains” perform
6-8 p.m.—Youth Area activities, South Main Street
6:30-7:30 p.m.—Prince and Princess Party at 61 S. Main St.
7 p.m.—Kiddie tractor pull (prizes awarded immediately and photos taken), South Main Street
7-8 p.m.—Strawberry food contest check-in, information booth
8-8:15 p.m.—Food contest judging
8:30 p.m.—Car show awards
8:30-10 p.m.— “Michelle Robinson Band” performs, main stage
11 p.m.—Festival closes
Saturday, June 23
9 a.m.—Baby contest (photos immediately following), main stage
9 a.m.—All vendors open
9 a.m.–5K run, London Baptist Church
9 a.m.-1 p.m.—Young Eagles Rally, (free plane rides for youths), Madison County Airport
10 a.m.-3 p.m.—London AC COBRA car show, courthouse square
10:30 a.m.–Rock Walk, meet beside the main stage
11 a.m.-4 p.m.—Ride special, $12
Noon—“Second Chance” performs, main stage
1:30-3:30 p.m.—Festival queens luncheon, London Elementary
4 p.m.—Parade line-up, Cowling Park
5 p.m.—Grand parade followed by festival introductions and crowning of the 2018 queen at the main stage; grand marshal recognized; contest and parade awards announced
6 p.m.—“Sighless Sunday” performs, youth stage
7 p.m.—50/50 raffle winner announced
8 p.m.–“The Sensational Soul Brothers” perform, main stage
10:30 p.m.—Rides and festival closes.
