When the calendar turns to 2020, London City Schools will be one person short of a full school board roster. The district is seeking applicants interested in filling the empty seat.
Two board seats were up for election in the Nov. 5 general election but only one candidate ran. Jonathan Stahl won re-election. He and the remaining board members–Darryl Brown, Donovan Cooper and Marvin Homan–will choose who fills the other seat. The person they select will serve two years of the four-year term. The remaining two years will be up for election in November 2021.
Anyone interested in serving on the board should submit their interest in writing to Kristine Blind, district treasurer, at kristine.blind@london.k12.oh.us, or by mail to 380 Elm St., 2nd Floor, London, OH 43140. The deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 2.
The board likely will interview candidates in closed session at the next regular board meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the high school lecture hall. The board plans to vote to approve the new member during their annual organizational meeting on Jan. 14.
