London Lions Club plans Summer Bash at Cowling Park

The London Lions Club is hosting a Kickin’ Off Summer Bash on June 8, 12-4 p.m., at Cowling Park on North High Street in London. This a free community event.

Lions Club members will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, chocolate chip cookies, and bottled water while supplies last. The first 200 children will receive free swag bags full of goodies.

Activities include a three-legged race, sack race, egg race, and water balloon toss with small prizes going to the winners. Free registration by a parent or guardian is required to participate in all competition events.

Face painting, balloon animals, and a bouncy house are planned. The London Fire/EMS Department and London Police Department will make appearances.

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase a rubber duck for a starting entry donation of $5. A duck race will take place at 3 p.m. The winner of the race will receive half of the total entry fees.

Bring a canned good for a chance to when a$25 gift card.

All proceeds from donations from this event will be used to provide services to the community that align with the Lions Club’s areas of service: vision, environment, childhood cancer, diabetes, youth, hunger, disaster relief, and humanitarian efforts.
