It’s Homecoming Week at London High School.
The homecoming queen will be crowned at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 prior to London’s home football game against Benjamin Logan. The homecoming court includes seniors Aubrey Cline, Emily Fraysier, Ericca Holloway, Kaylynn Martinez and Amelia Moore.
In another tradition, the “L Runners” will light the “L” prior to the start of the game. Each year for homecoming, students vote for one senior girl and one senior boy to represent all fall athletics. At the game, the two honorees run with torches from one end of the football field to the other where, with help from the London Fire Department, they set a giant “L” ablaze. (The flames on the torches aren’t real, but the flames at the “L” are.)
This year’s “L Runners” are Grace Ayers, a volleyball player, and Ethan Hastings, a golf and soccer player.
The football game starts at 7 p.m.
