Good food and good music make for a good time. The Madison County Arts Council is offering exactly that with its upcoming supper club revue Nov. 13-14 at Brennan Loft in London.
The production, “Showtune,” features local vocalists singing a collection of music by Broadway lyricist and composer Jerry Herman. Among the songs set for the evening are “Put on Your Sunday Clothes” and “Before the Parade Passes By” from “Hello Dolly,” “We Need a Little Christmas” and “Bosom Buddies” from “Mame,” and “I Am What I Am” from “La Cage aux Folles.”
The performers include Arts Council veterans Jennifer Ruhlen, Bruce Thompson, Matthew Tlachac, and Stephanie Stephens, who also serves as the show’s director. Shannon Treynor and Kevin Lohr will sing and play piano. Also performing are Ciera Bierbaugh, Krissy Hartman and Brynne Mayne. As a special treat, Hartman and Mayne will dance a tap routine to “Tap Your Troubles Away” from “Mack and Mabel.”
“This assemblage of singers is well suited to Jerry Herman’s music,” Lohr said.
Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes a choice of ham loaf or chicken cordon bleu. The 70-minute show starts at 7:30. For tickets, call Wilson Printing & Graphics at (740) 852-5934. Brennan Loft is located above Wilson’s at 158 S. Main St.
