Although Ayden Miller may be a bit too young to be thinking about his blood pressure, the 4-year-old was nevertheless interested in having his “checked” by Kroger pharmacist Megan Long at the sixth annual Your First Wealth is Your Health Day on Aug. 5. Established by Urbancrest Mayor Joseph Barnes Sr., the four-hour event offered its attendees the ability to be screened for a variety of health issues and also the ability to have a bit of family-friendly fun at the aquatics center, the basketball courts, and on bikes for an adventure around the village.
Tae Hampton and her son, Canyon Nobleton, have fun splashing around in the pool at the Vaughn E. Hairston Southwest Community Center.
Children prepare for their biking adventure around the village. Many of the young attendees received new bikes courtesy of community donors like Jacob Wess  and the Jackson Township Fire Department.
Aubree Miller, 6, is all smiles as she becomes accustomed to the new bike she won via raffle.
Grillmaster Nathaniel Collins watches over the burgers that are almost ready to be consumed by the hungry masses.
