Prepare ye for a family-friendly evening of entertainment of biblical proportions.
On July 11-13, churches in London and Hilliard will host performances of the rock opera, “Godspell.” The musical is based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
The show on July 11 will take place at 7 p.m. at London Christian Fellowship, 255 U.S. Rte. 42 in London. All profits that evening will benefit the church’s youth group.
The shows on July 12-13 will take place at 8 p.m. at Veritas Community Church Tri-City (former the Hilliard Library), 4772 Cemetery Rd., in Hilliard. Profits from those shows will benefit the church and RTNI.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (high school age and younger).
This is the first venture for the Light and Life Theatre Co. The show focuses on the teachings of Jesus and his final days on earth, including dramatic presentations of familiar parables. The cast will present the story of Godspell in a way that honors a traditional biblical interpretation of the book of Matthew, in musical theatre form. Among the show’s unforgettable songs are “Day By Day” and “Prepare Ye.”
The directing team of Rachel Armas, Dr. Danielle Fredette and Jeff Gates has worked together on the West Jefferson High School musicals for the past four years.
Tickets are available through cast members and cash at the door for all three performances.
