Kambree’s Kids expands to include local charities
Have you heard about Kambree’s Kids? After five years, we are finding out that many of you do not know about this benefit in memory of Kambree Michelle Dillon. In the past five years, over $90,000 has been raised through Kambree’s Kids. All of the proceeds go to charity. In the past five years, that charity has been Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This year, we are going to try to keep the money local.
This year, we will divide the proceeds among the Madison County Hospital Breast Cancer Initiative, Loving Care Hospice, the Madison County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association for Christmas bas-kets, the local firefighter toy drives from London, West Jefferson, Mount Sterling and Plain City, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Anyone who purchases an item at auction or donates money can write their check payable to one of these charities and it will be submitted through Kambree’s Kids to that charity. Money donations will be divided between the charities.
Everyone is invited on Nov. 29 from noon to 10 p.m. for food, fun, music, raffles, a silent auction, and a live auction. There is no charge for admission or for food; our family and friends furnish the food. The Posse and friends furnish the music, VFW Post 7005 furnishes the location, and, hopefully, you will donate items to be auctioned, which is how we raise funds. In previous years, we have raffled off a car from Coughlin Automotive; last year, the car raffle raised over $10,000 alone.
We cannot raise this money without you. Please come and join us for a day full of fun at VFW Post 7005, One Veteran’s Way, West Jefferson. If you have items you would like to donate (we are looking for new, homemade or gently used items—no clothing), or if you have any questions, contact us at 614-879-9470.
