I just finished reading the article about the rally by the SWEA (South-Western Education Association) at the recent school board meeting.
I realize these educators need to be working with a fair contract, but it should not be one that will hurt those of us who are on a fixed income. Also to be considered are those in the private sector who have received small or no raises at all in the past few years.
The majority of those who were at that rally, are probably making more than the average person living in the South-Western City School District and their benefits are better than most of us.
I hope the board of education members are not scared by this rally and do what is right for everyone, not just the educators.
