Longest TD run
High school football season is upon us which brings back the memory of the longest touchdown run in Groveport Madison Cruiser football history. On Sept. 25, 1964, Tom Reichelderfer (pictured here in a game from 1965) ran 99 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter against the Grove City Greyhounds. The touchdown was the winning margin in the game as the Cruisers defeated the Greyhounds 18-13. The Cruisers competed in the Mid-Eight League from the late 1950s until the 1973-74 season when the league disbanded and Groveport joined the Ohio Capital Conference. |
