Learning to stay safe at Safety Town

Kids join Groveport Police Officer Javier Herrera for a bicycle ride around “Safety Town,” part of a free national safety education program designed to address children’s safety issues that was held at the Groveport Presbyterian Church from Aug. 13-17. Safety Town is provided to local children who are entering kindergarten or first grade and covers home, school, fire, poisons, strangers, animal, school bus, water, bicycle and internet safety. Safety Town is was presented in conjunction with the Madison Township Fire Department, Madison Township Police, Groveport Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Groveport Madison Schools Transportation and the Groveport Recreation Center and was sponsored by the Groveport Presbyterian Women’s Association.
