Leading the troupe

Lauryn Floring, the director of the Color Guard at Westland High School, leads a group of students through a routine at the first annual Color Guard Day held at Central Crossing High School on May 11. For six hours, more than 50 students from grades 4 through 12 learned the basics from the performing arts troupe or fine-tuned their skills through hands-on instruction.
