The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Kyle Clemmons as Madison-Plains High School’s May Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Kyle has a 3.3 grade point average and he is ranked 17th in his class. His favorite course is physics. During his time in high school, Kyle was on the golf team for three years and received the Coach Boyle Award which is given for sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity. He has also been in concert band, playing the baritone horn for four years and earning his letter.

When asked which Madison-Plains staff member inspires him, Kyle picked Madison-Plains family consumer science teacher Kim Jarvis.

“I have had Mrs. Jarvis with various classes over the past four years. She has always encouraged me to do my best on my schoolwork and has helped me stay focused on my work and my goals.”

Regarding Kyle, Jarvis said, “Kyle has been a pleasure to have in class. He is a very motivated student. In family consumer science class, he has been very vocal in class discussions. Kyle is a punctual, self-motivated, and dedicated student. These attributes will follow him into college and his future career. I have always appreciated Kyle’s kindness and respect he has always shown me. I can’t wait to see his future accomplishments.”

After graduation, Kyle plans to attend Sinclair Community College and earn a degree in unmanned aerial systems. He is the son of Kevin and Cheryl Clemmons.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million businesses and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
