On June 21, the EAA Young Eagles program will provide free sightseeing plane rides for children ages 8 to 17. Flights will take off from Madison County Airport in London between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., weather permitting.
A parent or legal guardian must be present and fill out a registration form.
The Young Eagles program is designed to introduce children and teens to aviation. Rides are provided by volunteer pilots from EAA Chapter 9 based at the Ohio State University Airport in Columbus.
Over the years, Chapter 9 has provided thousands of Young Eagles flights. Nationally, the organization has provided over 1.75 million Young Eagles flights. Last year, 96 youths enjoyed flights during the Madison County event.
