On July 5, dozens of guests attended the second annual Kickoff to Parks and Recreation Month at Gantz Park. The event, which is hosted by the city of Grove City and its parks and recreation department, featured the grand opening of its new, nature-themed playgrounds, tours of the farmhouse, an hour-long musical performance from the Central Ohio Brass Band and a hunt for Gnomes. Shown here are a few scenes captured at the event.
Grove City siblings Leah and Colton Bailey try out the new attractions at the playground.
Stacey Stevens, a volunteers with the Gardens at Gantz, shows off a sunbrella. Stevens said not only does it block UV rays from reaching her, but it also drops the surrounding temperature by 15 degrees when it is open.
Jessica Sneeringer, the conductor of the award-winning Central Ohio Brass Band, plays the trombone during a musical performance.
