The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Josephine Davis as London High School’s September Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Josephine has a 4.55 grade point average, is ranked first in her class, and says her favorite class is biotechnology. She is a five-year member of the marching band, serving as section leader for four years. She is a five-year member of the concert band, serving as first chair for four years.

Josephine has played tennis for four years and received the following honors: special mention 2018, CBC all-conference second team 2020, and CBC Student Athlete of the Month for September 2021.

She has served as a class officer, including class president, for four years and has been a member of student council for four years, serving as secretary for one year. Josephine is a four-year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and two-year member of National Honor Society, serving one year as NHS president. She is a two-year member of Teen Leaders of London and LHS Quick Recall.

When asked to name a school staff person who inspires her, Josephine named Tim Coudret, advanced placement government teacher.

“Mr. Coudret is the type of person who is passionate about his work and really cares about his students,” she said. “His classroom is a positive learning environment, and he taught me everything I need to know about the American government system. He has been a mentor to me the last two years, and he encourages me to challenge myself and live up to my fullest potential. I am very grateful for his constant support.”

About Josephine, Coudret said, “Students like Josephine are the reason I have the best job in the world. Her intelligence and work ethic are only exceeded by her incredibly positive attitude. Josephine is a joy to have in my classroom and she truly serves as an inspiration to me. She has unlimited potential and a bright future and I look forward to seeing it unfold.”

After graduation, Josephine plans to attend college to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She then hopes to further her education in the medical field and become a physician’s assistant. Josephine is the daughter of Joseph and Deanne Davis of London.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million businesses and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
